About me

Dr Kassy Drosou

BPS and HPC reg, DPsych, MSc (Hons), MSc, BSc (Hons), BA

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist providing specialist Psychotherapy services for people with Autism spectrum conditions (ASC) .

I am trained in  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centered, Existential and Psychodynamic Therapy, although my approach will depend on the client’s needs.

I have worked almost exclusively  with more cognitively able adults  with an Autism Spectrum Condition  for the past 20 years in NHS psychotherapy services and the voluntary sector. In 2012 I completed a doctorate thesis at Regents University London, where I researched “How clients with an Asperger’s Syndrome diagnosis, experience the therapeutic relationship”.

Since 2013 I have also been offering Autism diagnostic assessments, screening tests, counselling, social skills training, couple’s psychotherapy (where one of spouse is on the spectrum), Autism training and Sibling support.

In addition to my work in private practice, I managed the Psychology Department of  a charity called Hoffmann Foundation for Autism  which provided adults  services including psychotherapy for indiviuals  on the Autistic Spectrum.

I also work as an Autism Consultant with organisations such as Autism HUB Islington and ALAG Aspergers London Area Group, creating Neurodiversity Smart workplace cultures and delivering psychological support services to Neurodivergent individuals with Conditions such as Dyslexia Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Autism and general mental health difficulties.

I endeavour to offer a safe and confidential environment, where people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and their families are given the opportunity to express their feelings, explore the underlying causes of their behaviours and acquire either the self awareness required to lead a fulfilling life or those practical tools that will enable them to resolve their difficulties.
