Dr Kassy Drosou is the founder, director and lead counselling psychologist at autism spectrum psychotherapy, a premier psychotherapy centre providing psychological services and evidence based support to young people and adults who identify as neurodivergent.
Dr Kassy Drosou is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centered, Existential and Psychodynamic Therapy, although my approach will depend on the client’s needs.
In September 2024, Dr Kassy Drosou started training in Eye Movement Desentisation Reprocesing (EMDR) with the EMDR Academy which is an EMDR UK and Europe Accredited Training. The complete training takes place over 4 parts which Dr Kassy Drosou endeavors to finish in May 2024.
Dr Kassy Drosou has worked almost exclusively with more cognitively able adults with an Autism Spectrum Condition for the past 22 years in NHS psychotherapy services and the voluntary sector. In 2012 Dr Kassy Drosou completed a doctorate thesis at Regents University London, where Dr Kassy Drosou researched “How clients with an Asperger’s Syndrome diagnosis, experience the therapeutic relationship”.
Since 2013 Dr Kassy Drosou has also been offering Autism diagnostic assessments, screening tests, counselling, social skills training, couple’s psychotherapy (where one of spouse is on the spectrum), Autism training and Sibling support.
In addition to my work in private practice, Dr Kassy Drosou managed the Psychology Department of a charity called Hoffmann Foundation for Autism which provided adults services including psychotherapy for individuals on the Autistic Spectrum.
Dr Kassy Drosou also work as an Autism Consultant with organisations such as Autism HUB Islington and ALAG Aspergers London Area Group, creating Neurodiversity Smart workplace cultures and delivering psychological support services to Neurodivergent individuals with Conditions such as Dyslexia Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Autism and general mental health difficulties.
Dr Kassy Drosou endeavours to offer a safe and confidential environment, where people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and their families are given the opportunity to express their feelings, explore the underlying causes of their behaviours and acquire either the self awareness required to lead a fulfilling life or those practical tools that will enable them to resolve their difficulties.
